Who should apply
Scholarships help cover registration and travel for students, early-career researchers, and community members whose attendance depends on support, whether they attend in person or online. We especially welcome people contributing to Galaxy or bringing what they learn back to their own communities.
Applications are reviewed by the GCC scholarship committee. Your application, including anything you say about funding, is seen only by the committee.
What a scholarship covers
- Registration, in person or virtual. Registration support comes as a code to register with. Please don't pay the registration fee in advance.
- Travel. Travel support covers reasonable travel expenses up to $1,000 (USD), reimbursed after the conference. Please get the committee's approval before you buy any travel, so you know it will be reimbursed.
What we ask of recipients
- Attend GCC, in person or online as awarded.
- Present a poster or talk.
- Follow the GCC Code of Conduct.
- Write a short piece about your experience afterwards.
